Working out of "Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades" (Solomon) I have put together a plan of action for this coming spring. We (Emily and I) have four 10' x 20' plots at Happy Valley Community Gardens. 3 will be devoted to vegetables, and one to flowers.

Onions and Spinach
I actually already started this month. The weather the last 10 days was unusually warm for around here this time of year. Sunny and 55 days and no rain for almost 2 weeks! I was able to dry out the soggy soil enough to sow by covering a patch of soil with a plastic tunnel cloche for about 10 days.
Feb 16: planted 15 row ft of Stuttgarter onion (long keeper) from sets
Feb 23: sowed 4 row feet of Bloomsdale Spinach under plastic tunnel cloche

My goal (I hate having goals)
If you're here for deep thoughts and ruminations, so sorry. I'm going to use this as a journal/diary to keep track of my vegetable garden this year, but feel free to follow along. I'll try to get up pictures and keep track of what happens each week, but no promises...
